Juan,
We had an excellent time on our tour. Our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient with our group. Some of them had some difficulties keeping up on the walking sections and he took the time to allow for breaks and assist them. He answered all of our questions and got us back to the port with enough time to allow us to do a little shopping. We had the same tour as the cruise ship, only personalized, in an air-conditioned van with cold drinks and for a much better price! Thank you for your services – I will highly recommend your travel agency to others as requested.
You may post my comments on your web page – if you want to send my name as a reference to potential tour groups, I’ll be happy to answer their general questions.
Thanks again,
Sherryl

Juan,
Good morning! My family and I just returned from an amazing cruise last week. I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for sending us such a great tour guide to meet us in Progresso! Bernardo was the best! He was very informative and knowlegable. He took us to all the places that we wanted to see. Our experience was so great! I was worried at first to hire a guide over the internet, but Thank God that I did! It was my favorite part of our vacation. Dzibiltuchan Ruins and the Cenote were so amazing, and Merida was absolutely beautiful and welcoming. Thank you, again! I am already recommending your company to friends and family. In fact, one should be calling you this week. You can use me as a reference any time!
Thank you!

Dear Mr Bernardo Mena,
It was very nice to meet you at the Chichen Itza site. We were very surprised that you were checking up to see how we were doing. Our Guide was excellent and we very much enjoyed his services. He worked very hard at teaching us the history of the site.
We were hesitant to book over the internet at first. Now we are very glad we did. Using your service we were able to beat the tour bus crowds and had a first rate guide who catered to our interests.
We Hired a tour guide and car to meet us at Progresso cruise ship terminal and take us to the Chichen Itza ruins. The guide was holding up a sign with our names on it at the terminal. The terminal is at the end of the pier where the ships tie up at. We only had to walk about 150 ft past the end of the ship to get to the terminal where our guide was waiting holding the sign. His car was on the other side of the building. You can use us for a reference anytime.
Sincerely,
Warren & Paula Lee.

I booked Cabanas Tulum online with Juan, and although I was initially a bit leary of booking through an agent, everything I could find on his agency online was very positive. I went ahead, and discovered Juan to be very courteous, prompt in his replies, helpful, and "on the ball"! When we arrived to our hotel (with specific instructions on how to get there, how much it should cost by taxi, etc..., as well as other tips on local tours, money exchange, etc..), everything was as promised, and our cabana was ready. I was impressed with Juan's customer service, and when I had problems later personally booking a room in Playa del Carmen over spring break, I enlisted his help. I had found a small hotel by phoning around, but I couldn't be sure that the reservations were indeed taken. This hotel was not in Juan's inventory, but he helped me by going to book it himself, for a small and reasonable commission. Once again, when we arrived there, the hotel had been paid for and we had no problems at all. All was smooth, and I would definitely book with Juan again. He has earned my trust!

Dear Juan,
Thank you for a great tour. Like many of the others that wrote in, I was concerned about booking a tour over the internet, but everything worked out just as you said it would. We have been on tours booked through the cruise ships before, but having our own personal tour guide really made a difference. Our guide, Mr. Bernardo, was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history and answering questions. He was also very accommodating, including being an interpreter for us while shopping in the market in Merida. We feel that we not only found a great tour guide, but a new friend. My family and I are looking forward to our next vacation in the Yucatan and using your services again. Sincerely, Gerald Eiermann and family.

Hello Juan,
We just returned from our cruise yesterday and I wanted to let you know what a great time we had! Our guide was Victor who met us at the pier and took very good care of us. We toured Chichen Itza and Victor made the tour very enjoyable by sharing with us his knowledge and humor. When we booked the tour our ship was to be in port from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM but due to declining weather conditions in the Gulf the ship’s captain decided to shorten the stay and leave at 5:30 PM. I expressed our concerns to Victor and was assured that we would be back to the port before 4:30. Victor was true to his word and had us back to the port at 4:05 PM. We still had a little time to shop in the port stores and be back onboard by the appointed time. I will use your company again for future trips and I will recommend your services my fellow Cruise Critics. Thank you for wonderful service, we look forward to doing business with you again. By the way Juan, I also appreciated your quick responses to my emails. Please feel free to post this.

The most quick and easiest hotel reservation we did for a 2 weeks travel through Yucatan were those effected by Mr. Juan Ojeda of Yucatan Travel. Even when we had problems later with a lost luggage his help was the most efficient one.We just came back from a most interesting travel through this wonderful country, where we had returned after 35 years and we do hope to go there once more. Anyway we will recommend Yucatan Travel to all friends planning a trip to Mexico. Many, many thanks for all and all the best for the future ! Muchas gracias Eva y Wolfgang

Hi Juan I wanted to write and let you know how grateful we are to have found your services. Last year we went to the Yucatan and you made everything so easy for our stays in Tulum and Valladolid. Cabanas Tulum was the perfect experience for us. Nothing fancy, which is the way we like things. Everyone there was so hospitable and we loved the restuarant. I think it is the nicest beach front at Tulum. Valladolid is a lovely, historical colonial town that we loved. You were so accomadating and managed everything perfectly. We are coming back this year and it feels like returning to old friends. Again you have provided us with accomidations and information. Thank you so much, Rita.

My family and I have just returned from our trip to Mexico and Belize and Bernardo met us in Progreso just as your arrangements suggested. We found him to be friendly, accomodating and very knowledgable about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour to Chichen Itza with him. It was a very hot day and he made it such a pleasant experience. He had cold drinks and water on ice and couldn't have been nicer to us. We appreciated his services and would gladly recommend him to anyone who would be so fortunate to have him as their driver and guide. His English language skills were excellent and besides the history and background on the ruins, he shared many other cultural and local facts as we drove to Chichen Itza. We couldn't be happier with our total experience working both with you and Bernardo. Thank you so very much for all your help and extra information. I really like your easy accessability and rapid answers to my e-mail questions. Sometimes you hear such horror stories about working with unknown people and agencies, but you delivered everything you promised and the tour accomodations were everything we could have hoped for. The van was large, the air conditioning was a life saver and worked beautifully for the entire day and Bernardo could not have done another single thing to make us more comfortable or at ease. I just wanted you to know how very much all 8 of us enjoyed our day, thanks to you and Bernardo. Judy Cluff and family.

Mr. Ojeda, I just wanted to thank you for your recommendations for our trip to Progresso and the Uxmal ruins. When you book, you never are sure what you may find yourself in, but we had an awesome time-it was one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed the excursion to the Mayan ruins more than the trip to Cozemul the day before. In comparison to the stories we heard back on the ship, our personal tour was so much more than what was experienced by those who booked from Carnival. We did not expect the guide to stay with us the entire day, but Bernado was great. He was very knowledgalbe and patient with all of our questions and gave us terrific insight to the culture and surroundings. Information that you can't get from a guide book. He even helped us with lunch and the money differences. The kids really had a great experience and took home a terrific memory of Mexico. We have already recommended your travel agency to several families for future contact. Thank you again, wishing you well and future success. David and Teresa Duggan.

A big THANK YOU to Yucatan Travel and Juan for your great service: - EASY BOOKING VIA EMAIL: less than 24h email response while booking a room. The whole process took 2 days. Very simple process for those who are lucky enough to have a Paypal account. Payment in Full in advance. Booking confirmation provided (a link to click in Juan's email) to print out and give at hotel reception. - HELPFUL LOCAL RESOURCE: my wife and I didn't get the room that we booked (the hotel's fault, because the booking confirmation provided by Juan was very clear). Thankfully, Juan was still available on the phone at 7pm to sort this out and we changed room the next day (we were even lucky enough to be upgraded!). Bravo, bon travail!

I have used Yucatantravel in the past very successfully. I used them for bookings at 3 hotels for 9 nights in January 2006 and reservations were always waiting at check-in at all the hotels. I get lost very easily and the directions to Casa del Balam in Merida were very precise - the traffic there is crazy besides. I will use yucatantravel.com again when I return to the Yucatan. As a single, woman traveller its good to have a service to rely on. I have tried in the past to book online with Mayaland Hotels and was very frustrated with them. Yucatantravel.com does a great job!

We were very pleased with the reservations (we made the reservation on a weekend for the following week travel but Juan Ojeda from Yucatan Travel was there to make it happen). Juan - We really appreciate your quick service. You are the best!! Our Tour Guide was excellent (sorry, I forgot his name); he was very patient and stopped at a good location for additional shopping. The lunch buffet (local mexican food) was excellent. Thanks Juan for your help and support. We wish you a happy new year!!

Comments:Juan is the Yucatan guru!! We had an amazing trip because of this man. I told him where I was going and what I was looking for and he took the ball and ran with it. The Hotel El Meson de Marques in Valladolid is exquisite. The town is beautiful. Take a couple of days here to relax and explore. We were so very lucky to get to sit in on a Mexican wedding in the Santa Lucia Cathedral. Be sure and check out the Cenote Zací and the Cenote Dzitup on the way back from Chichen Itza. You wont be disappointed. Besides the hotel restaurant, check out El Mexicano at the Quinta Real hotel. Caribe Hotel in Merida is just what we were looking for. The pool on the roof is the perfect touch. + Close to Uxmal. Be sure and eat a Pancho’s. Cabanas Tulum, this ‘untouched’ part of the Mexican Riviera is a rare find. Although the cabanas is a bit more rustic than what we usually go for we are glad we got to see it. Be sure to see the Tulum and Coba ruins.

Comments:We just completed making reservations with Juan again for our second trip to the Yucatan. I found him quite by accident while trying to make reservations at the Hotel El Meson de Marques in Valladolid. We had taken the advice of a friend here on where to go and what to do. We have had difficulties booking directly with hotels online as we often do not receive a response or the websites are outdated. Additionally, often credit cards are not accepted over the web and one would have to spend more money on wire transfers or cashiers checks. This year, I have also not had time to call for reservations due to the time difference. Once I found out that Juan could also make reservations for us in Merida as well, I went ahead and booked through him for both Valladolid and Merida. We love the Hotel El Meson de Marques and the Hotel Caribe in Merida. Being able to transfer funds through PayPal has been so easy and Juan has been amazingly quick to respond with our reservations documents. Often I have only just sent an e-mail and he has responded within minutes! Thank you, Juan, for making our planning ahead such a delight and we have only now to sit back and look forward to our vacation!

Comments:Results of Progreso - Chichen Itza - Balamkanche day tour 23 December 2002. Our guide Bernardo was superb! Excelent English, very knowledgeable about Yucatan, Chichen Itza. Gave a running commentary all the way to the ruins and back. Returned us to the ship at 4 - exactly as we had requested. Very careful driver. Would highly recommend Bernardo to anyone. We enjoyed Chichen Itza the best. This is probably the highlight of our trip. We are very pleased. Have anyone email us for recommendation.

Comments:This note is to say how much we appreciate the assistance that Juan (d/b/a- JOP Yucatan Travel) provided for our recent trip to the Yucatan area. He helped us with the accomodations in 5 places (Merida, Cancun, Tulum, Chichen Itza, then back to Merida) over a nine day period, and also with a rental car. Everything was as described or better, and there were no difficulties at all. The trip was fantastic, wonderful, & the area fascinating- another week there would not have been enough. We were expected at each lodging place, and the instructions were perfectly clear, so this gave us much peace of mind to just relax and enjoy the trip: the culture, weather, scenery, beach, the history, everything was very fascinating and enjoyable. Juan met us for coffee the first morning, he is a perfect gentleman and had lots of good advice. It was nice to get to know him, however briefly. So to close, I would make an unconditional recommendation- if you wish to visit this area, and would like to set up your own schedule and itinerary, but need some help, Juan does a great job. You won't be disappointed. We will come back, and we will have him set us up again. No question about it. Anyone with questions may feel free to contact me if they wish. regards, Doug & Connie VanPelt

Comments: We have visited Akumal twice in the past 2 years and are planning to visit again soon. We love the area and people! There are more things to do - if you're an adventure type of person! Underground caves and waterways, beautiful beaches, great snorkeling (we love Yal Ku Lagoon, which was in walking distance from our condo). There are many great resturants in Akumal and Playa del Carmen is a great afternoon or evening place for shopping and happy hour! Most of all, the accomodations where the best! Hacienda De La Iguana is peaceful, beautiful veiws, excellant staff and the condo had everything you could possible need. We plan on visiting as often as we can! Juan has always taken the best of care of our needs. I was uncertain the first time I booked - sending money to someone I didn't know - but we were greeted each time as though we were truely welcome! Thanks Juan - it's a pleasure to have you help us with our reservations! Kate and Quinton van Tonder KY, USA

Just a big thank you for your help in organising our Yucatan trip - all the hotels were excellent, especially the Hacienda Chichen Itza to which we will definitely return. We had a fantastic time in this beautiful and fascinating part of Mexico.
Please pass on my recommendation to your testimonial section. My only point for improvement is that it would clearly be helpful to be able to pay by credit card for those overseas.

Comments:We traveled to the Yucatan last October and stayed in accommodations arranged by Juan. What a great vacation! We still look through the pictures all the time! Not only was the service very professional, but the places we stayed were beautiful and inexpensive. The Casa San Juan in Merida has a central courtyard, high ceilings, a small library, and a nice little backyard to enjoy breakfast. We also stayed at Hacienda Chichen in Chichen Itza. This place was also very peaceful, clean, and the food was excellent. Both accommodations were close to the action and easy to find.
Thank you for all of your help. We will not hesitate to use your services again as soon as we're able to return and will recommend you to anyone who may be visiting! Liz and Dan from Boston.

Comments:hello juan... i just wanted to let you know what a wonderful vacation we had at cabanas tulum. we loved it. the beach is just beautiful, picture postcard perfect, and the cabanas are comfortable, clean and pleasant. the owners were friendly and helpful, and their pet monkey visited us and even took us for walks! the restaurant served very nice meals ...we were a quite a "mob" to feed en mass (6 adults and 7 teensgers)and we enjoyed it very much. we felt very safe at cabanas tulum, and sometimes in the evening, we left the kids eating at the restaurant while we went out to try other places. when the electricity turned off at night, we simply lit the candles, and the ocean breezes kept us cool all night. people warned us not to send money for our accomodations prior to our arrival, especially to a place we found on the internet. but they were wrong. it all worked out so smoothly juan. we arrived, showed our confirmation sheet and we were in! it was just what we wanted - a laid back holiday far away from the mega-resort crowd with no worries at all. thank you so much juan for answering all our questions and taking care of all the arrangements for the three families involved. you did a terrific job. we appreciate it very much. i have already recommended jop yucatan travel to friends. take care...

Comments:Juan, please accept out thanks for setting up the hotels in the Yucatan for us in February 2001. Each hotel was expecting us and your voucher system worked perfectly. The people we met were extremely hospitable and accommodating. We enjoyed poking about in the smaller towns and exploring the Mayan ruins. We visited Uxmal, Tulum, Coba, Ek Balam, and Chichen Itza. All of them were fascinating and all very different. They were obviously from the same culture but each was unique. Our favourite was Ek Balam. Our stay in the Cabanas Tulum was a real tonic. Contrary to some travel guidebooks, the beds are very comfortable. Carlos made us feel very welcome and his guacamole was first rate. The location is wonderful - far away from big hotels on a beautiful beach of fine sand on the edge of the Caribbean - truly a place to relax and recharge the soul. We were sorry that we had only three nights to spend there in our tour across the peninsula. We liked Valladolid too. It is a bustling provincial town. The Hotel El Meson del Marques in Valladolid was great - particularly the restaurant. We enjoyed the local cuisine enormously all over the peninsula and did not have a visit from Montezuma. On our last day, we went to Celestun to see the wildlife reserve and the 20,000 pink flamingoes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the birds and the region. It was well worth a visit. All in all, we drove about 800 miles from Merida across to Tulum via Felipe Carillo Puerto and then back via Valladolid. The roads were in excellent condition and not very busy. We quickly got used to the speed bumps (topes) in the small towns. They are very effective at controlling the speed of the traffic. We also learned to look for road signs that were sometime difficult to spot. It made driving a pleasant adventure. Again, thanks for setting up the hotels for us. We'll be back.

Comments:Many, many thanks to Juan. I have been visiting the Yucatan since 1976, and I have never had as good a time, and Juan's assistance with lodging was key (my wife and I never wanted to leave the Hotel Hacienda Chichen - definitely the highlight!). To top it off, Juan stopped by the Gran Hotel in Merida to say hello and we ended up chatting for 90 minutes. Comments:Thank you Juan for arranging our stay in Tulum. We had the best time, mostly spending the week, witnessing the days going by, while lying on the hammocks we bought from a charming local man (Pedro). Only moving to eat and drink and sleep. We seriously considered not returning to the States?ever. But back to reality it was. I have to admit, I was at first aprehensive to book my plans without having known or met you, but throughout the process you were informative, efficient, reassuring?a delight. It´s nice to know that your business contains more that just making a room reservation but that you really care about the people you work with. We had a great time in Merida and were sorry to have missed the Thursday night dancers at the Santa Lucia Park due to the rain but now we have another reason to return to our most favorite city in the Yucatan!

Comments:First of all the Mayan Riviera was GREAT!! The Ruins were incredible! Juan was very helpful and knowledgeable. He answered ALL my questions and was able to make good suggestions. He even helped me with my Spanish lessons. We were unsure of the area that we wanted to stay at, but through our many e-mails Juan suggested the perfect place. We thoroughly enjoyed it!! Jop Travel gave us a convenient payment plan and we had no problems with any of our vouchers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Juan's travel service. We plan on using it again. Gracias.

Comments:Hello Juan, We returned yesterday from a fabulous holiday, which was organised through your agency. We spent an unbelievable two weeks at the Shangri La Caribe in Playa Del Carmen. This is in its price class one of the best hotels worldwide. We did not regret for one minute that we have booked this hotel with you. Everything was great: the country, the people, the hotel, the excursions, even the souvenirs. This surely is one of the holiday destinations we will never forget. Since you made a big contribution in realising this all, we want to thank you for all your efforts. Your organsation was perfect. Best regards, Luc Claes and family Neerpelt, Belgium

Comments:Dear Juan, I am so sorry it has taken me this long to write you regarding my trip to Tulum. I must say that our trip was everything we had hoped for and more! For anyone looking into Tulum and booking through Juan, have NO FEAR! I planned my entire trip to Tulum through Juan for my sister and me. Now neither of us speak any Spanish nor had we ever been outside the US without our husbands. We had a blast! What an adventure! We rented a VW convertible picked up at the airport and drove to Cabanas Tulum. Senior Carlos was a dear and his staff have fun with our lack of Spanish- they are lovely people. The cabanas were clean and in great shape. Please note that Foders Travel guides states that the beds are uncomfortable. NOT TRUE. The beds had very thick new mattress. Step out on the front veranda and look through the palm trees at the Caribbean. Honestly, my pictures look like post cards from Paradise! We would go back in a heartbeat and take our husbands this time. While we had a great time, it is a romantic beach - we missed our men! My only complaint is that the low beams on the VW did not work making night travel next to impossible. I did not discover until we were in Tulum. I did not make the effort to contact Localize Rental Car because I did not want to drive back to Cancun. We did not go very far out a night anyway. I did not give them the opportunity to fix the problem, so I truly don't have the right to complain. Thanks Juan and Senior Carlos! Sincerely,
The sisters Cindy & Donna aka Tequila & Whiskey

Comments:OUR FRIENDS THOUGHT THAT MY HUSBAND AND I WERE MAD TRAVELLING ALL THE WAY FROM ENGLAND ON A HOLIDAY BOOKED OVER THE NET.
ANY WORRIES WE HAD SOON DISAPPEARED WHEN WE HANDED OVER THE VOUCHER ( THAT HAD BEEN SENT FROM JUAN ) AT RECEPTION. IT WAS IMMEDIATELEY RECOGNISED AND WE WERE SHOWN TO OUR ROOM.
OUR FIRST HOTEL WAS THE HOTEL EL MESON DEL MARQUES. THIS, I HAVE DECIDED, WAS MY FAVOURITE HOTEL F THE HOLIDAY. THE STAFF HERE COULD NOT DO ENOUGH TO HELP. THE ROOM WAS LOVELY.
WE TRAVELLED ON TO THE HOTEL HACIENDA UXMAL AND AGAIN HAD NO PROBLEMS BOOKING IN. WE PREFERRED TO EAT AT THE LODGE UXMAL HOTEL - IN THEIR LARGE PALAPA RESTAURANT. THE FOOD AND STAFF WERE GREAT.
OUR THIRD HOTEL, AFTER A LONG AND TIRING, BUT FASCINATING, JOURNEY WAS THE CHICANNA ECOVILLAGE. THIS HOTEL LOOKS JUST LIKE THE PHOTOS! DURING THE DAY WE SEEMED TO HAVE THE PLACE TO OURSELVES. AFTER TOURING AROUND MANY OF THE MAYAN SITES AND LOCAL VILLAGES OUR FINAL STOP WAS AT THE TORTUGA 8# CONDO IN AKUMAL. THE VIEWS FROM THE BALCONY ARE STUNNING. I WOULD NOT COME INSIDE UNTIL THE SUN WENT DOWN!! WE HAD A BRILLIANT AND RESTFUL 4 DAYS HERE BEFORE TRAVELLING BACK HOME. I TAUGHT MYSELF TO SNORKEL IN THE HOTEL POOL - QUITE A FUNNY SIGHT - BUT I WAS DETERMINED TO JOIN ALL THE OTHERS OUT IN THE BAY OOING AND AAHING OVER THE FISH!!
THANK YOU JUAN FOR ALL YOUR PATIENCE AND HELP, ESPECIALLY FOR MIGUEL, THE GUIDE YOU FOUND TO TAKE US TO CALAKMUL. HE WAS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE AND SHOWED US PLACES AND FOUND US ANIMALS THAT WE WOULD HAVE NEVER FOUND.
PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU WANT ANY INFO.

Comments:Arrived back home from our two weeks in the Yucatan Peninsula a week ago today. We had an amazing and wonderful expereince! The accomodations made through Juan were breathtaking. The Casa San Juan in Merida was a charming b&b with a friendly and knowledgeable host, Pablo. The CSJ was the ideal place to stay in Merida as the location is fantastic. It was so nice to be in walking distance to everything. The Tropical Padus Cabanas in Tulum was incredible. Clean, well maintained, excellent service & staff, and located right on the breathtaking Caribbean Sea. The photos of the places Juan has on his site are very accurate. However, the one thing photos cannot capture is the atmosphere - the feeling of being in another time at the CSJ and the breaking of the waves and tranquility on the beach in Tulum. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend using Juan's agency for planning your trip.

Comments:Juan's impeccable services were vital to the success of our family trip to see the Mayan pyramids. As my contact in Mexico, he patiently helped me tailor a trip for our small group's specific interests and needs. Every hotel and also our guide-driver met and exceeded our expectations. Juan replied with miraculous promptness to all of my many emails and was always gracious in his service. I had the pleasure of meeting Juan in Merida during our trip and his professionalism and kindness were as evident in person as over the emails. Our next trip to the Yucatan will definitely be planned with the help of this wonderful man. Muchas Gracias, Juan!

Comments: Just got back from my holidays yesterday and two weeks wasn't enough. First off I had the pleasure of meeting Juan & what a great person! Second I had the pleasure of staying at the casa San Juan on 62nd street in Merida. I have only one thing to say- excellent! You know it's good when there are days when you don't feel like being a tourist, but just sit around in the garden at this b&b. I was only staying one week here, but my friends & I decided to stay an extra week. Large rooms, clean, good breakfast & excellent conversation. Besides chatting with Pablo (your host)I found a fantastic mix of people from every corner of the world. It was great having breakfast with people from Vienna, Spain, Argentina, Poland, USA, etc. An added bonus for the trip. I know Merida quite well, but if you don't Pablo is always on hand with maps & books to help you get around. BUT! best of all- location, location, location! Three blocks from the bus station, one from the beach bus station, four from the downtown centre and close to taxi's, culture, restaraunts & bars. I would NOT stay in a hotel if I could stay here. If you have any questions about Juan, the Casa San Juan or Merida, drop me a line. MANY thanks to Juan, Pablo & Manuel for a great time! Grant Park Ottawa, Canada

Comments: We booked through Juan and everything went as planned. Our Volkswagen was waiting for us at the airport. And when arrived at Cabanas Tulum they had one of the best rooms ready for us. It was a great place to stay: clean, comfortable rooms, a wonderful beach and lots of hospitality. I especially liked being able to walk for miles on the beach. It was safe and there were lots of restaurants to visit. Thanks Juan.

Every time Juan answered my e-mails FAST, and I do mean FAST! Where ever you are in the world, if you are thinking of traveling to the Yucatan-let Juan take care of your travel/lodging plans. He has many years of work in the tourist industry, and it shows! Well, that's enough for now-more later.

Comments: What a joy it was for my girlfriend and I to find ourselves at Cabanas Tulum steps away from the Carribean sea and miles of beach that was practically all to ourselves. If you like to spend a few day in the utmost tranquility - this is THE place, Hardly a soul in sight for several kilometers. Many thanks to Juan for his help and rapid service. I had my doubts on making reservation on the internet and sending a payment by mail - but all has worked out - problem free!

Comments:We spent 10 Great Days at the Shangri La Caribe in Playa del Carmen this past September, and I cannot begin to tell you how pleased we were with the Hotel, its Location, and above all the Staff. It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken... and plan on returning in the year 2000. As for Juan Ojeda, his reservation service, jop Yucatan travel, is impeccable. I work for a Travel Company and have never experienced an easier time of booking a reservation with a vendor. What a treat it was for me to work with someone so knowledgeable and professional. We have been going to Cabanas Tulum for a number of years and each visit is different and special because of all the wonderful people we met and again, Carlos and his family. Comments: This past June I went on a school trip and stayed at Cabanas Tulum for a week. It was the most relaxing week of our month long trip. The beach was beautiful, and the breeze was wonderful. I definitely recommend renting the hammocks, they are well worth it, and if you try to sleep on them, make sure you put on bug spray first. I loved these cabanas, the sunrise over the caribbean was the most beautiful I've seen. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Comments:For all those considering booking accomodations through Yucatan Travel, my experience has been just great. I reserved a two bedroom condo for three nights through Yucatan Travel in August, 1999, and had a wonderful time. The condo Juan helped us reserve was right on the ocean, nicely furnished and even included a coffee maker. My family of four stayed at the Sirena/Iguana Condosuites and had a lovely time.

Comments:Hola Juan: Sorry we are so late in adding our thanks to your site. We just wanted to let your prospective clients know what a marvelous service you provided to us in setting up our month stay in Merida. With tremendous patience, Juan provided e-mail answers to all of our millions of questions about Merida over a period of several months. He arranged for an apartment for our stay: an automobile rental for the month; and a wonderful condo in Akumal for three days. We couldn't have survived without his expertise. He introduced us to the lovely hotel, Casa Del Balam where we ate many good meals We stayed there our last night in Merida, making it easier to get to the airport in the early morning. Don't hesitate to use Juan's services. He is a real gentleman and will never disappoint you. Feel free to e-mail us for any information. According to us, Juan walks on water!

Comments:Just got back from our Yucatan vacation. Had a great time. The ruins and the cenotes were awesome! I just wanted to say thank you for making our reservations at Uxmal and in Valladolid. Both were very nice hotels. I admit I was nervous about mailing money to someone I didn't know. I didn't even tell my husband! I did call and confirm my reservations at Uxmal. Comments:We first met Juan Ojeda through his marvelously detailed Website, booking a lovely ocean side Akumal condo through him. Later, traveling to his home city of Merida, we had the great pleasure of meeting Juan and his family. We also had the good fortune of being able to avail ourselves of his services while conducting business in Merida. Juan's superb language skills, his understanding of Mexican and American customs, and his well-honed abilities as a diplomat and mediator made our trip to Merida very worthwhile. Juan Ojeda was utterly reliable in all his business dealing with us; that he also proved be a very intelligent and gracious person was a delightful and unlooked for bonus. Please feel free to contact us should you wish to hear any further superlatives regarding Juan Ojeda and Yucatan Travel. Stephen A. Berry.

Comments:Buenos Dias, Juan! Tom and I arrived home safe and sound last evening after a wonderful vacation in the Yucatan. What a lovely place. Thank you for all the special attention and arrangements on our behalf. We really enjoyed meeting you and hearing about your business. Our stay was very enjoyable. We toured around Uxmal and Dzibilchaltan (including a dipp in the cenote which was refreshing). Then onto Yucalpetan with Sr. Alberto Sanchez who (with his able staff) took very good care of us. We recommend that future guests request Room 4 at the Sian-Ka'an, which has a palapa roof, large beds, tables in both the kitchen and sitting areas (inside and outside) overlooking the water. We would definately stay at the Sian-Ka'an again! We returned a day early to Merida because our flight out on Sunday was very early. We stayed at the Casa Balam for a treat! We have great memories of our vacation and thank you very much for making it all happen. Please stay in touch. Regards, Patrice and Tom Harpers Ferry

Pablo da Costa provides very personal service, has lived in the US and speak excellent English. He was able to provide some unique insights into life in Merida and Mexico. The pan dulce and coffee are fresh and tasty each morning. While we were requested to send our deposit to a Coral Gables, FL bank, we did so with little hesitation. All arrangements went smoothly. Comments:I did have my concerns about booking (and prepaying) for reservations with a Mexican travel agency over the Internet. And quite frankly our friends thought I was absolutely crazy. After all it is difficult enough dealing with travel agent problems here in the US much less in a foreign country. However, I am very pleased to report that our experience with Juan and Yucatan Travel were very positive. His response back on all matters was very prompt. and he was straight forward and honest. At each of the hotels or B&Bs we were expected and there were virtually NO problems. We will certainly use Yucatan Travel again and will recommend them highly to even our most skeptical friends. would also like to put in a plug for Casa San Juan. This is a great little B&B within walking distance of the central plaza of Merida. Once inside the home you are transformed back in time. Very quite and peaceful place, with the exception of Latin music coming from a nearby cantina. However, we really enjoyed this added feature and the music stopped about 9:30 in the evening and did not begin again until late afternoon. The owner Pablo is great and will speak with you in beautiful English or in Spanish. He does not live at the house but does arrive each morning to enjoy breakfast with you. There is a houseboy who is there from 10 at night to 2 in the afternoon to help with any needs. Our flight was delayed and we did not arrive until 2 in the morning and someone was there waiting for us when our taxi arrived. Good place!

La verdad es que venimos muy contentos con el viaje, y aunque fueron pocos días, sentimos que conocimos mucho. Me alegro de haberte encontrado y hacer caso a tus sugerencias. Although we had some initial fears about doing business over the internet, after checking references, we decided to use jop Yucatan Travel. Our experience with Sr. Ojeda was extremely positive. All the business transactions were handled in a very prompt and professional manner. Sr. Ojeda also graciously responded to the many questions I asked him prior to our departure. We had a wonderful time in yucatan, and your locations were always great. We've been some days at The Piedra Econdida -at it was wonderful. Sounds silly, but this "hangout" was a kind of magic. I had the feeling that time ist resting still on this little small beach with wite sand. But we loved to stay also in Akumal and at the cabanas of Eco Paraiso in Celestun. Geat nature and really nice hotel managers! It was very nice to meet you IRL in Merida, to listen to all your explanations about your life in Mexico, your family, and your ideas to expand jop!
